Chandragiri Cable Car

Chandragiri Cable Car is a popular attraction in Kathmandu, offering easy access to the scenic Chandragiri Hill, located about 16 km from Thamel. The cable car ride takes around 10–15 minutes and costs approximately NPR 700 for Nepali citizens and NPR 1,280 for foreigners (one-way). Chandragiri Hill stands at an elevation of 2,551 meters and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley and Himalayan ranges, including Annapurna, Langtang, and Everest on clear days.

The hill is also a significant pilgrimage site due to the Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, believed to be associated with Lord Shiva. Many devotees visit to offer prayers and enjoy the spiritual ambiance. The area is ideal for both spiritual and nature-loving visitors, combining cultural, religious, and scenic beauty. The cool climate, lush greenery, and fresh mountain air make it a perfect day-trip destination from the busy streets of Kathmandu.
