Mountain Flight

We offer the Mountain flight service

Mountain flight in Nepal is a scenic aerial tour that offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including the majestic Mt. Everest (8,848.86m). This one-hour flight usually takes off early in the morning, between 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, when the skies are clearest and visibility is best. It is ideal for those who cannot trek but still wish to witness the grandeur of the world’s highest peaks up close.

The flight begins from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and heads eastward, flying parallel to the Himalayan range. Passengers can view numerous towering peaks, including Langtang, Gauri Shankar, Melungtse, Dorje Lakpa, Cho Oyu, Shisha Pangma, and finally Mt. Everest. Each passenger is guaranteed a window seat to enjoy unobstructed views, and often the cockpit is opened briefly to allow a frontal view of Everest.

Mountain flights began in Nepal in the late 1970s and have grown in popularity among tourists with limited time or physical constraints. The flight is highly valuable for its unique perspective, allowing close encounters with peaks that would otherwise take weeks of trekking to reach.
Aircraft commonly used for mountain flights are small fixed-wing turboprop planes such as the Beechcraft 1900D or ATR 42, typically carrying 15 to 30 passengers. These aircraft are equipped to fly at high altitudes and offer large windows for panoramic viewing. Mountain flights operate daily, weather permitting, and are considered one of the most unforgettable experiences in Nepal.
