Mardi Himal Trek
The Mardi Himal Trek is a short and scenic trek in the Annapurna region, ideal for those seeking breathtaking mountain views in just 6 days. Starting from the picturesque Australian Camp, the trail passes through rhododendron and oak forests, traditional Gurung villages, and ridgelines with stunning panoramas. The trek gradually ascends to Mardi Himal Viewpoint (4,200m), the highest point, offering spectacular close-up views of Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Mardi Himal (5,587m), Annapurna South (7,219m), and Hiunchuli (6,441m).
The difficulty is moderate — suitable for beginners with decent fitness and enjoyable for experienced trekkers. The trail is peaceful and less crowded, with cozy teahouses offering local food and warm hospitality. Flora includes blooming rhododendrons, ferns, and bamboo, while fauna such as Himalayan Monals, Dhanphe, Langurs, Barking deer can be spotted.
The trek ends in the quiet village of Siding, descending through lush forests. The best seasons to trek Mardi Himal are spring (March–May) and autumn (October–December).
